From Pouring Concrete to House Connections
The story of how Squibber came to be
The Problem
Hey! I'm Jonathan Manta, co-founder of Squibber! The summer after my freshman year, I was working concrete construction while trying to find a sublet. I ended up on sketchy websites, paying just to message random homeowners, figuring out how to send them money, and hoping they wouldn't randomly kick me out. It sucked, and I knew there had to be a better, safer way.

The Solution
So, I started coding the very first version of Squibber after my shifts (after I took my cousin out to get ice cream). A marketplace built by students, for students to make subleasing stress-free, secure, and reliable.

Early Success
We launched our pilot at Tufts, and it blew up! Through pure word-of-mouth, we quickly reached over 2,000 active users and even made the front page of the Tufts Daily.

Growing Fast
A few months later, BANG! Seth Lupo joined as my co-founder, and soon after, we won over $30,000 from the Tufts New Venture Challenge. Our story started making waves beyond campus, with features across Boston and in local media outlets.
